                        Beaded Evening Bag (style 1870 - 1920s)    Carole Pardue - Sweden  - Friday 10 am

                        This style of evening bag was made in the late 1800s and up to the 1920s. It is made in beaded netting with a drawstring closure and a black silk lining. The kit includes patterns for the bag and the square stitch purse, beads, thread and beading needle, also silk for the lining and a cord for the drawstring. An instructional CD for computer, showing the two different stitches is also included. 
                        Please bring a sewing kit with black thread.

                        Workshop duration – 3 hours

                        Broderie Anglaise  - Pat Jones - UK - Friday 1.30pm

                        Pat Jones is a Member of the Royal School of Needlwork

                        Using cotton threads and fabric, embroider padded satin stitch scallops, and master the techniques for making small and large eyelets. Learn about other applications for these stitches, then add the sample to your instruction sheets for future reference.

                        Bring - Sewing kit, including sharp embroidery scissors, a 5" or 6" embroidery hoop, magnifier, and a tailor's awl or stiletto, if you have one.

                        Balloon Bonbonniere - Karen Martinez – USA – Friday 1.30 pm

                        Karen Maritnez is the Managing Editor of International Doll Artist Magazine.

                        Students will create this beautiful balloon candy box reminiscent of the Victorian Airship.  Just lift off the top to reveal the candies within.  The 12” height makes it a perfect size for your cabinet display.  The 3½” diameter Paper Mache box is decorated with silks, velvet, gold rope and a lovely set of child portraits embellished with Dresden paper trim. The base of the balloon holds a sweet 5” all bisque doll, dress in lace and silk, ready for her flight around Paris.  The kit includes all supplies need to complete the project including the mignonette with a mohair hand painted by Karen Martinez.

                        Students will need to bring a basic sewing kit and glue.

                        Duration: 3 to 4 hours

                        "In the Pink" Bunny -Joy Sherriff - UK - Friday 1.30pm

                        Make this lovely fluffy bunny made from genuine German mohair in baby pink.  It is 7inches to the top of his ears and you should be able to complete this bunny during the workshop. 

                        Please bring a sewing kit plus, if you have them, stiletto, pliers and tweezers.

                        Floral Trinket Box - Tony Tanner - USA  - Friday 1.30pm

                        Tony Tanner is the owner of the Porcelain Place
                        Students will complete this wonderful 130mm long Art Nouveau trinket box.  The students will learn how to dip silk flowers into colored porcelain slips and how to trim the box in Designer Strokes. The workshop will come with a complete kit which includes the porcelain slips, silk flowers, Designer Strokes, china paints, and our special Velvet Coats for lining the inside of the box.  Students should bring a small box to take the soft-fired piece home in.  Once fired and glazed they can use the included china paints to accent the flowers and leaves. Clear glaze will be available in the sales room for £5.69.

                        Willow Fairy  - Marilyn Thompson – USA – Park Avenue Dolls - Saturday 8.30am

                        Head Doll Artist for the Porcelain Place
                        Willow, a cute little fairy with pointed ears, is a fully articulated all porcelain BJD (ball jointed doll). Students will receive painted bisque, stringing supplies, eyes, and all fabrics and florals needed to assemble and costume Willow in workshop. A separate kit for Willow’s goose is available for £13.00. Please pre-order to ensure availability.

                        Soldier Candy Container -  Joyce Murch – USA  - Saturday 8.30am

                         Joyce Murch is Features Editor of the International Doll Artist  Magazine


                        Students will dress this Soldier Candy Container Doll that has been painted by Joyce Murch.

                        The Soldier Candy Container is 11" tall.

                        You will need to bring your usual sewing kit and scissors.

                        Fleur Brooch  - Lianne Hart - UK - Saturday 1.30  pm

                        Lianne Hart is a Diploma Member of the Royal School of Needlework.

                         Learn some simple metal thread couching techniques which will enable you to re-create this beautiful jewel-like brooch. Included in the workshop will be a choice of either silver plated or gilt thread (silver as shown), together with full instructions and everything you need to complete your flower brooch. This is an interesting and creative method of embroidery, for which you only need basic sewing skills.
                        Bring – Sewing kit, sharp scissors, 6” or 8” seat frame embroidery hoop, thread wax (will be available on the day)
                        DURATION – 3 hours

                        Sweet Baby Ruby - Dawn Palmer - UK - Saturday 1.30pm

                        Originally this would have hung on the end of a baby's crib to keep the safety pins in a safe place.  the little all bisques Kestner is 4 3/4 inches and has pink boots and gold buttons on the side.  The gown she wears is 10 inches in length and is embellished with Antique lace finished with pure silk Bud and Bow trim and put wool inside for the gold pins.

                        The doll has been painted and you will make the gown  You will receive the hand knitted bonnet and the baby cup. 

                        Please bring your sewing kit and scissors.

                        Leather Bru Body - Jackie Strode - UK - Sunday 9.00am

                        For this workshop you will make this beautiful small leather body.  You will also be supplied with bisque hands and legs, the head will be soft fired for you to paint at home.
